When we're welcoming new members into church, it is a critical stage of our relationship with them. We are essentially establishing a partnership. Not only do we want to put our best foot forward, but we also want to be clear about who we are, what we believe, what we have to offer, and what we expect from them.

At Fellowship Church, individuals who want to become members must complete our Newcomers Membership Class. In this experience, participants enjoy a free meal while learning from an hour-long presentation that covers:

• a brief history of the church
• our purpose and mission
• an in-depth explanation of the gospel (including an invitation)
• our beliefs about baptism
• our staff-led model
• what we expect from members
• next steps for involvement
• requirements to join
• an option to join, which involves an individual consultation
• personalized follow up

This Newcomers Kit includes the complete class content and supporting materials that will allow you to get a comprehensive look at Fellowship Church's new member process and tailor it to fit the needs of your church. The Kit includes the following resources:

• Video file of Fellowship Church overview and welcome from Ed and Lisa Young
• MP3 audio recording of an actual Newcomers Membership Class (approx. 1 hour)
• PowerPoint file of all presentation slides
• Detailed class teaching outline (8 pages)
• Thorough training document for newcomers volunteers (20 pages)
• Graphic design files for all printed materials: a class handout packet, meaning of baptism handout, promotional flyer, signage and Newcomers logo.
