On the Trail - A wild west cattle drive through the Exodus of Israel
Saddle up your horses and grab your favorite pair of boots as we go on an old-fashioned cattle drive! Join Cookie, Tex and a whole herd of cattle as we learn lessons from a different kind of trail, the trail the Israelites left as they got out of Egypt!
- Lesson Goal: Children will learn that God has a plan for their lives and He will give them the help they need to accomplish that plan. Therefore, we should trust God and obey Him.
- Main Point: I Obey God Because I Trust Him.
- Bible Story: Exodus 3 & 4 (the calling of Moses)
- Memory Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and He will direct your paths." (NLT)
- Lesson Goal: Children will learn that the way we show love to God is by being obedient to Him and to other figures of authority. Therefore, we should be obedient every day.
- Main Point: I Obey God Because I Love Him!
- Bible Story: Exodus 5 — 11 (The Ten Plagues)
- Memory verse: John 14:15
"if you love me, obey my commandments." (NLT)
- Lesson Goal: The children will understand that when problems arise we should focus on God rather than our problems because He is trustworthy, powerful and He loves us.
- Main Point: When I Have A Problem, I Will Focus On God.
- Bible Story: Exodus 13:17 — 14:31 (The Parting of the Red Sea)
- Memory Verse: Psalms 34:4
"I prayed to the Lord, and He answered me. He freed me from all of my fears." (NLT)
- Lesson Goal: The children will learn that when they have a need, they shouldn't worry or complain. Instead, they should thank God for what He's already done for them and then ask Him to meet their need.
- Main Point: Thank You God for Meeting My Needs!
- Bible Story: Exodus 15:22 — 17:7 (God Provides for the Israelites)
- Bible Verse: Philippians 4:6
"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done." (NLT)
- Lesson Goal: The children will learn through the story of the Ten Commandments that we are to love God and love others as ourselves.
- Main Point: Love God, Love Others!
- Bible Story: Exodus 19:1 — 20:21 (God gives Moses the Ten Commandments)
- Bible Verse: Matthew 22:37b-39
"You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: love your neighbor as yourself." (NLT)
- Lesson Goal: The children will learn that, in order for their church to be the best it can be, they need to participate.
- Main Point: Church is Better with You!
Church is better when we all participate - Bible Story: Exodus 25- 26, 31; 1-11, 35 30-35
God uses people to build the tabernacle - Memory Verse: 1 Peter 4:10
God has given gifts to each of you from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Manage them well so that God's generosity can flow through you.
- Lesson Goal: The children will learn that God promises them eternal life and it is their choice whether or not to accept it and believe it.
- Main Point: I Can Choose to Believe God's Promises!
- Bible Story: Numbers 13 — 14:25 (The twelve spies and the Israelites' rebellion)
- Bible Verse: John 3:16
"For God loved the world so much that He gave his one and only son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." (NLT)
- Lesson Goal: The children will learn that in order to experience God's best for their lives they need to obey Him.
- Main Point: God has great plans for me when I obey Him.
- Bible Story: Joshua 6 (The Fall of Jericho)
- Bible Verse: Jeremiah 29:11
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' says the LORD. ' They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.'" (NLT)
