Quick Facts about Elevate Jr.
- Each Elevate Jr. series is eight weeks long and is not tied to the calendar. This means you can start with any series and launch them in the order that works best for your church. Starting with Spy Chase, Elevate Jr. will be produced with every Elevate series from this point forward.
- Elevate teaches children 3 - 5 years old how to apply Bible concepts and stories to their daily lives with a fun, creative approach.
- There are two ways to use Elevate Jr. The Classroom Format alternates video teaching elements and classroom activities to give children small sections of the curriculum at a time and keep them moving throughout the lesson. The Large Group Format combines all the video teaching elements into one section and all the classroom activities into another, allowing you to use a common teacher or venue for the video portion.
- We train your volunteers for you! Elevate includes Activity Training DVDs that will teach by example, along with helpful tip sheets and printable lessons/scripts.
- Classroom Activity supplies vary from week to week, but are basic in nature and can be obtained at common stores (i.e. Walmart).
- You can use Elevate Jr. with as little as one teacher.
- While Elevate and Elevate Jr. are similar in theme, they do not have the same Main Point or Bible Story. Each curriculum is carefully crafted for their target age group. Both curriculums go to the same land, but each age group learns different things.
- Elevate doesn't require special software to run - if you can operate a DVD player, you can use Elevate!
Overview Maps
This map represents all of the series that will be taught in the first year of ELEVATE and is designed like a theme park map to build excitement toward what's ahead. We want kids to look at the map and say, "Ohhhh, I can't wait to go there!" or "Wow, that place looks like it will be so much fun!" Because we present a new theme every 8 weeks, the environments change regularly and keep each child's learning experience fun, fresh and exciting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the Elevate Staff?
The Elevate staff are a part of Fellowship Church and consist of writers, production assistants, artists, animators and a host of volunteers who make Elevate what it is today.
How are the series in Elevate and Elevate Jr. created?
The Elevate series are created by Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas and were originally written for weekend services. For more information about Fellowship Church, visit FellowshipChurch.com.
The series are created through a development process involving writing, production, animation and audio teams. If you have a specific question concerning the process of creating elevate please contact us!
What if I find a mistake in the text of the Elevate curriculum
It is always our goal to give you a top-quality curriculum. We understand that while Elevate goes through a rigorous editing process, with many proof-readers, sometimes textual mistakes slip by. We appreciate emails concerning any oversight you find in the curriculum so we can make and send you the corrected material.
We have made some fixes avaialble as downloads. These are found on the individual series pages.
What software do I need to use the Elevate art included in my Base-pack?
All you will need is Adobe Reader that you can download free here. You can also use Adobe Photoshop. This software is not essential, but it is the best way to use the visual resources provided. Both software are available on Mac or PC.
Are there guidelines for how I use these resources?
These materials are intended solely for individual usage and may not be transferred. You may make photocopies of the printable materials from the Lesson Materials CD-Rom or Environmental Graphics CD (where applicable) as part of your personal usage or for use within your church; however the materials should not be transferred or shared. All documents, concepts and images included as part of this package, as well as any resources created using this content, may not be redistributed, resold or otherwise used for profit-making purposes. Unauthorized broadcast or duplication prohibited. The act of purchasing any materials indicates your acceptance of this license agreement.
I've tried to take a logo or other artwork to a print shop and they won't allow me to print unless I have a form that shows I have permission to replicate it, what do I do?
Please download and print out the Elevate Printing Copyright Release Form and take it to the print shop.
Is it possible to have access to the MPEG files so I can use Elevate in Media Shout?
For two reasons we will not provide the MPEG files that are needed to run Elevate in Media Shout.
The first is security. The MPEG files are not nearly as secure as the Elevate DVDs. Soft copies of media, such as music MP3's, are much easier to copy and send to others than the DVDs. Also, the MPEG files would be much easier to alter.
The second reason is cost effectiveness. The DVDs that come with an Elevate base pack contain over 8GB of data so putting them on ElevateKids.com or CreativePastors.com to download would not be an efficient use of server space or bandwidth for us. Also, every time we replicate a single Elevate DVD, we must make a run of at least 1000 copies and there is not a demand for us to replicate a disc that contains all of the MPEG files.
We do know that the latest version of Media Shout will play DVDs from your computer's DVD player. How effective it is, we do not know. For assistance with that, you will need to contact Media Shout directly.
Can I see a sample of an Elevate or Elevate Jr. series?
By selecting on the product you wish to view a sample you will be able to view series video clips.
How often will you release Elevate Jr.?
Because Elevate Jr. is the preschool curriculum at Fellowship Church, we compose a new series every eight weeks.
Elevate and Elevate Jr. have the same series names, what do they have in common?
Elevate Jr. mirrors Elevate in style, but varies in teaching. The series' content is age-appropriate for preschoolers. For example, Spy Chase (for Elevate) is about the prophets. Spy Chase Jr. (for preschoolers) is about friendship.
Each curriculum is carefully crafted for their target age group. Both curriculums go to similar lands, but each age group learns a different Bible Story and Main Point.
What is the minimum amount of people needed for each class?
The minimum number of teachers you will need for a group of 20-25 kids is two or three. You will need two in order to split your kids into manageable small groups. At Fellowship Church, we prefer a ratio of ten children for every one teacher.
Is Elevate geared towards the kids being in worship altogether for the entire time, should the seating be set up more like a kid geared sanctuary?
This depends on you. The design of Elevate works in a classroom of five kids, one teacher, a TV and a DVD player. It is also works in a worship auditorium with 500 kids in a large group setting that will then split into small groups for applications. There are several possibilities in-between. Elevate is very flexible.
What version of the Bible is the Elevate curriculum based on?
Elevate uses the New Living Translation (NLT) 2004 Bible.
Do the lessons have to go in the order presented on the map; i.e. On The Trail before Heroes, etc?
There is no intentional order with the series so you can start with any one you wish. The only consideration you might want to make is with "Treasure Quest" and "Journey Below The Earth" as the latter is a sequel to the former. In "Treasure Quest," the title character Kit Windswept hears the Gospel and chooses to follow Jesus. In "Journey Below The Earth," Kit teaches someone else about the foundations of our faith.
What is in a Base Pack?
