Quick Facts about Elevate
- Each Elevate series is eight weeks long and is not tied to the calendar. This means you can start with any series and launch them in the order that works best for your church.
- Elevate teaches children K-5th grade how to apply Bible concepts and stories to their daily lives with a fun, creative approach.
- Children experience each week of Elevate in three parts: an opening activity, a large group teaching time with skit and Bible story, and a small group time with several choices of activities. It all adds up to 1-2 hours, depending on how long your services last.
- You can use volunteers to perform the skits and Bible stories live in your classrooms, or just pop in the DVD for that part of the teaching.
- We train your volunteers for you! Elevate includes DVDs that will teach by example, along with helpful tip sheets and printable lessons/scripts.
- Your volunteers can serve as large group leaders (if the skits and Bible stories will be performed live) or small group leaders. You can use Elevate with as little as one teacher.
- Elevate covers all the bases for you, so in addition to your teaching materials, you'll find printable or traceable set backdrops, songs with visuals and motions, text for parent flyers, printouts for small group activities and more!
- Elevate doesn't require special software to run - if you can operate a DVD player, you can use Elevate!
Overview Maps
This map represents all of the series that will be taught in each year of ELEVATE and is designed like a theme park map to build excitement toward what's ahead. We want kids to look at the map and say, "Ohhhh, I can't wait to go there!" or "Wow, that place looks like it will be so much fun!" Because we present a new theme every 8 weeks, the environments change regularly and keep each child's learning experience fun, fresh and exciting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the Elevate Staff?
The Elevate staff are a part of Fellowship Church and consist of writers, production assistants, artists, animators and a host of volunteers who make Elevate what it is today.
How are the series in Elevate and Elevate Jr. created?
The Elevate series are created by Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas and were originally written for weekend services. For more information about Fellowship Church, visit FellowshipChurch.com.
The series are created through a development process involving writing, production, animation and audio teams. If you have a specific question concerning the process of creating elevate please contact us!
What if I find a mistake in the text of the Elevate curriculum
It is always our goal to give you a top-quality curriculum. We understand that while Elevate goes through a rigorous editing process, with many proof-readers, sometimes textual mistakes slip by. We appreciate emails concerning any oversight you find in the curriculum so we can make and send you the corrected material.
We have made some fixes avaialble as downloads. These are found on the individual series pages.
What software do I need to use the Elevate art included in my Base-pack?
All you will need is Adobe Reader that you can download free here. You can also use Adobe Photoshop. This software is not essential, but it is the best way to use the visual resources provided. Both software are available on Mac or PC.
Are there guidelines for how I use these resources?
These materials are intended solely for individual usage and may not be transferred. You may make photocopies of the printable materials from the Lesson Materials CD-Rom or Environmental Graphics CD (where applicable) as part of your personal usage or for use within your church; however the materials should not be transferred or shared. All documents, concepts and images included as part of this package, as well as any resources created using this content, may not be redistributed, resold or otherwise used for profit-making purposes. Unauthorized broadcast or duplication prohibited. The act of purchasing any materials indicates your acceptance of this license agreement.
I've tried to take a logo or other artwork to a print shop and they won't allow me to print unless I have a form that shows I have permission to replicate it, what do I do?
Please download and print out the Elevate Printing Copyright Release Form and take it to the print shop.
Is it possible to have access to the MPEG files so I can use Elevate in Media Shout?
For two reasons we will not provide the MPEG files that are needed to run Elevate in Media Shout.
The first is security. The MPEG files are not nearly as secure as the Elevate DVDs. Soft copies of media, such as music MP3's, are much easier to copy and send to others than the DVDs. Also, the MPEG files would be much easier to alter.
The second reason is cost effectiveness. The DVDs that come with an Elevate base pack contain over 8GB of data so putting them on ElevateKids.com or CreativePastors.com to download would not be an efficient use of server space or bandwidth for us. Also, every time we replicate a single Elevate DVD, we must make a run of at least 1000 copies and there is not a demand for us to replicate a disc that contains all of the MPEG files.
We do know that the latest version of Media Shout will play DVDs from your computer's DVD player. How effective it is, we do not know. For assistance with that, you will need to contact Media Shout directly.
Can I see a sample of an Elevate or Elevate Jr. series?
By selecting on the product you wish to view a sample you will be able to view series video clips.
How long does each Elevate Series last?
Each peak of Elevate contains a years worth of curriculum; seven series per peak, eight weeks per series. See quick facts for more information.
What exactly does the teacher do if the majority of the work is done via DVD?
The teacher carries most of the work, not the DVD. The filmed Bible Story, skits, songs, and review games help the teacher teach the lesson, like a modern-day flannel graph. The teacher introduces the lesson, the central theme (what we call the "Main Point,"), the Bible Story, the Bible Verse, and leads the children in singing the songs. Depending on your class structure, the teacher may also lead a small group in an application activity. The teacher doesn't serve the DVD, the DVD serves the teacher.
What type of materials will we have to supply for each of the lessons?
Elevate provides all the print material, from the lesson pages to the environmental pieces for your room in electronic form. You just print what you need. All animations and video are included as well. As for added supplies, we try to keep our supply lists centered around what you may already have and what you can get easily and affordably at your local discount store.
What is the minimum amount of people needed for each class?
The minimum number of teachers you will need for a group of 20-25 kids is two or three. You will need two in order to split your kids into manageable small groups. At Fellowship Church, we prefer a ratio of ten children for every one teacher.
Is Elevate geared towards the kids being in worship altogether for the entire time, should the seating be set up more like a kid geared sanctuary?
This depends on you. The design of Elevate works in a classroom of five kids, one teacher, a TV and a DVD player. It is also works in a worship auditorium with 500 kids in a large group setting that will then split into small groups for applications. There are several possibilities in-between. Elevate is very flexible.
What version of the Bible is the Elevate curriculum based on?
Elevate uses the New Living Translation (NLT) 2004 Bible.
Do the lessons have to go in the order presented on the map; i.e. On The Trail before Heroes, etc?
There is no intentional order with the series so you can start with any one you wish. The only consideration you might want to make is with "Treasure Quest" and "Journey Below The Earth" as the latter is a sequel to the former. In "Treasure Quest," the title character Kit Windswept hears the Gospel and chooses to follow Jesus. In "Journey Below The Earth," Kit teaches someone else about the foundations of our faith.

What is in a Base Pack?
Elevate is a self-contained curriculum - everything you need for your children's church in one place! ! It contains everything you need to prepare two actors to perform Elevate live in one room or, watch it on TV in two rooms, with resources for two small group leaders either way. You'll receive filmed skits and Bible stories, printable lessons, main points and Bible verses, and filmed Small Group activities for each of the eight weeks in a series.
There are two ways to use Elevate. You can perform the large group teaching time (skit and Bible story) live using actors or you can use a DVD to have your children watch the large group teaching on a TV. The Base Pack is your starting point for either option and contains:
- Perform it Live DVD - This DVD includes songs, animations and information that will be played while the Teacher and Co-Teacher perform the skits and Bible stories live. It also contains worship songs and review games.
- Small Group Leader DVD (2 copies) - This is a DVD your small group leaders will watch to learn the activities they will be teaching.
- Soundtrack CD - You will play this CD when Elevate is being performed live. It contains background music to be used throughout the service.
- Lesson Materials CD-ROM - This CD-ROM contains the lesson and environment printables including lesson materials, set backdrops, and the lesson scripts.
- Watch it or Train DVD (2 copies) - This DVD can be used two different ways. If you are going to perform Elevate, your Teacher and Co-Teacher will watch this DVD to learn their material. If your children are watching Elevate on TV, this is the DVD you will play for them.
