Get your children excited about God and Church!
- Children can come in costumes
- Kids Choice! Let them vote on their favorite worship song or two. You may want to have them vote the week before on the songs to allow for prep time. This will also give you a chance to get them excited about coming back to church the following weekend!
- Bring back a character or two from previous series. Keep in character and have them banter. Nothing like Cookie from On the Trail trying to have a conversation with the Doctor from Adventures in Science. Can you imagine the confusion? Let the children help them get things straight. Have fun with it and the children will, too!
- What do they recall? Conduct a quiz using questions from the weekly Reviews. Divide the room into teams and turn it into a contest and give out prizes.
- Utilize a few activities that went unused from the series.
- Rent a bounce house or purchase an inexpensive one to use at the beginning of service to get kids there early and excited.
- Have volunteers bring a snack to have for the kids during the party or have popcorn as an inexpensive treat.
- Have a quick parent rally at the end of the service (pick up time) have the kids perform a song for their parents from the series and give the parents a brief overview of what the series was about.
- Do a craft that is more hands on.
- Use signage and or latex-free balloons around the check-in area to create a special feel that something fun and exciting is happening.
- If you can, take the kids safely outside do some pre-service outdoor games.
